Craft Kits for Summer Vacation
Summer time is here and the kids are out of school. This is the best time of year to be a kid, but what about you parents out there? You have to come up with different things to keep your kids occupied for three whole months. What is a parent to do? One great idea is to get a craft kit. This is something that you and your child can work on together and make memories to last a lifetime. Here are a few craft kit ideas I've found out on the Internet.
Craft kits for Girls
There are a lot of really cool craft kits out there for girls. If your daughter or granddaughter enjoys wearing colorful beaded jewelry, what better project than to make your own. I've found these three great kits at Flax Art :
- Beading Book Kit
- Beading Kit
- Bead Kit
All of these kits will give you hours of fun and enjoyment.
If your daughter has a birthday during the summer, a great project would be to make your own greeting cards. Here's a kit to help you get started. The same company has a make your own friendship card kit. Lets not forget about activates at the party. A face painting kit could make your party the talk of all the neighborhood kids. If you don't mind making a little mess, you could try out a pottery wheel kit. I'd use that one outside though.
A couple other ideas are a kids scarpbook kit if you're a scrpbooker yourself. What a wonderful way to introduce your daughter to the hobby. Or even a cly design kit.
Craft kits for Boys
Craft kits for boys are a little bit harder to come by, but I've found you a few! First we're going to look at a couple form the messy and "gross" department. Your son can make some gross soap. It's not as bad as it sounds. You end up with a bar of soap with rubber spiders and stuff inside. Now to the messy. A casting kit can be a fun project during the summer. You could even use it tom make decorations for Halloween.
Is your son a sports fan? With all the World Cup excitement going on right now, he might enjoy designing his own soccer ball. Is he a basketball fan instead? Wall there's a kit for him too! If he's not a sports fan, how about letting him play Henry Ford and design his own car.
Craft Kits for Both
Here are a few ideas of craft kits that both boys and girls can enjoy. Let your kids unleash their imagination and crate there own game. This way they not only get to make the game, they get to play it the rest of the summer. KraftyKid.com has a craft of the month club. Just like the book of the month club, but each month they send your child a collection of craft projects that will keep them occupied until the next one arrives. They got lots of options and even let you build your own craft club!
Always remember that your kids will never be as young as the are now, so spend as much time enjoying the summer as you can with them.
