Baby handprint crafts are a wonderful way to create a memory that can be kept for a lifetime. They can also be given as gifts to loving grandparents, aunts and uncles, and even to parents of the baby. Forget about the crafts being costly and difficult to do. These crafts are easy, can be completed in a small window of time and are quite inexpensive.

Take a trip to your local craft store and pick up some craft clay. Ask a sales associate what type of clay they carry that will harden after you're finished working with it. When you get the clay, work it into any shape you like such as a circle or a heart, but make sure it's large enough to fit the handprints. Make two holes through the top where you can put a ribbon through it so it can be hung. Take the baby's hands and press them firmly into the clay. Let it dry, then if you choose, you can paint it as well. Attach the ribbon and you now have a beautiful gift.

Another easy baby handprint craft that makes a wonderful gift is to design a vase. Get child safe paint in a few colors. Lay out a few sheets of paper and doing only one color at a time, help to put the baby handprints on the papers. Let each color handprint dry before you move onto another color. After everything has finally dried, cut the paper up. You can do it so that each handprint is individual or you can make strips of paper. Make sure that the cut pieces of paper are no larger than the baby's handprint itself. After the cutting is complete, put a thin layer of Mod Podge on the back of it and adhere it to a plain, clear vase. Do this with each small piece of paper until the vase is completely covered. You can now cover the entire outside of the vase with a thin layer of Mod Podge. Let it completely dry before you handle it.

For a third baby handprint craft, you can design a box. Go to the store and pick up an inexpensive, already stained, small box. Make gray colored paint by mixing black and white child safe paint together. Dip the baby's palms in the paint and put them on a piece of paper. Let the paint dry, cut out the handprints, put a thin coat of Mod Podge on the back then adhere them to the lid of the box. After you let them dry, put another thin coat of Mod Podge over the entire box, including over the painted handprints. You now have another unique gift.
